We actually have been successfully helping customers through this (see steps taken for success at http://webforums.macromedia.com/coldfusion/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=489312). Most of the issues have stemmed from non-supported versions of Linux and also adjusting the Minhandler setting (bug 48435).
If anyone does have this issue with CFMX on Linux I'd *highly* suggest you call into Tech Support or post your details to the above thread so we can assist you.
