Thanks, ImageMagick seems to do an excellent job and is callable from the
command line (and I believe through its DLLs).  I think there may even be a CF
tag in the tag gallery that creates a simple interface to ImageMagick.  If I
were to write the gallery application myself, that's no doubt what I'd use.

I did some searching through SourceForge for CF applications, and didn't find
many projects that were very far along.  I'm wondering if moving my primary
development web language from CF to PHP might not be a good idea, just based on
the sheer number of open source PHP developers and projects that could be easily
adapted to client sites.
