This is a function I use to put a counter above each text area on some of
our internal apps..
function txtCounter(field,cntfield,maxlimit) {
if (field.getValue().length > maxlimit)
{
field.setValue(field.getValue().substring(0, maxlimit));
cntfield.setValue('0');
}
else
cntfield.setValue(maxlimit - field.getValue().length);
}
