The async gateway is a means of calling a CF page from within another page, and not having the main page block until the secondary page is completed. So you can dispatch a bunch of threads all at once, and they'll all do their thing in parallel.
I don't have an example of spawning threads to call a CFX tag. It was just another idea as a potential solution.
