The parsing is done with xmlSearch, which first parses the items, and
then I use feed-specific (sorry, I should say, feed-style specific)
code to handle filling in the data. Ie, Atom uses X, RSS 2 uses Y.
However, I do my best to "normalize" the data returned so you can
parse different feeds and work with the same basic query result. Roger
B. (who is on this thread I believe) was a big help on it - although
the code is still not 100% perfect.

The generating part is going to be simple - I assume most folks simply
want to take a wuery and have it dumped in RSS - so with that in mind
I'm trying to keep things simple, which means I may not support all
the various crazy extensions out there.

That being said - the enclosure type looks pretty cool.
