Are you doing this to add a dsn programmatically to extend your CFX? Cuz you can do it a lot easier in the CF Administrator with just a couple of points and clicks. Probably a stupid question for me to ask but I thought I'd do it just in case. Sounds like you're trying to edit the xml file manually.
