I know there are some of you out there who have been unhappy with the quality of images produced by the available java manipulation libraries, although the Alagad image component seems to do a fine job.
I've been toying with various methods and pouring over java documentation the last 24 hours trying to get better image quality, and I think I've made some good progress.
