Hi Ben, It takes a big man to own up to his mistakes and you've done a great job of that. I personally don't feel any differently about your level of professionalism nor has your reputation been tarnished in my eyes.
You've done the right thing by removing the site so just be sure to follow up with Brian, explain what your intentions were, explain what you've done to rectify the situation and I'm sure all will be fine.
