As far as I know , its only in north America that someone's bum is
referred to as a fanny. My understanding is that elsewhere in the
english-speaking world it is a very indelicate word for female genitalia.
Certainly not used in polite company.
What you're thinking of is referred to here in Australia as a bum-pack.
