What sort of motherboard are you using?  It might be your IDE controller
causing your trouble.

not like and AMD processor, either way
I went to NT workstation 4 , tried the 2000 , a few times and got tired of
the hardware failure, NO idea of what
caused it, but am too darn tired to start hemmin and hawwing about what it
likes and does NOT like.

holiday this week, and pig out, on as much
as possible.
