I'd lean towards the Sony if the price is comparable... but I would wipe the hard drive and re-install Windows7 clean from an original media disk, not from the Sony disks... Too much bloat ware.
As a 3rd alternate I'd look at Lenovo (Formally IBM) I've been really happy with my ThinkPad, but it wasn't cheap...
