Yes, I agree. Just now I'm using Postgres in my new Linux Box and I'm very 
satisfied. I converted an Access db to Postgres and I had only few problems 
with some queries.
The main problem to use PG is that It is only available to Unix platform. 
In any case standard SQL is sure more portable on PG than on Mysql.
