There is always a need for anything!
How do you thing Spectra began, there is no reason why you couldn't do
this a CMS or maybe even a shopping cart!
And I would be interested as well, this might be the thing to a bigger
thing:-)

1.) I think open source does not negate commercial opportunity.
Neccessarily. There are many tiers of licensing you can apply to an open
source project. It doesn't have to be GNU.

those linux based open source mail programs any ways.) And the main

said that you needed to gain momentum for an open source project, was a
place to start. The core functionality.
So I think the need is still there for an open source CMS. Heck I need
it...
My wishlist for CosMoS is to start to collect the bits and pieces of
code
relating to web based content management (and application management).
And
piece together an appropriate frame work for these applications.
I think the majority of our simple needs already exists. It's just the
shrink wrapping thats missing.
I am interested in continuing the CosMoS conversation ...

That's because it's open source, so you kind of give up the ability of
closed source so that you can have a better product. So you either pay
lots
of money to have your ideas made, or pay nothing and have the tools and
figure out a different way to make money. Either way you get good
software,
and you get your ideas out there.

Well throw them out here, I don't think there was really enough people
interested in making a full fledged CMS, so maybe something else more

For instance i have some fantastic ideas for sites and uses of CF to

using those sites even easier.
But i dont have the programming knowledge to put these ideas into
