Your example showed nothing. There is nothing public to see if the object
would be accessible externally. If you don't want a public variable, then at
least make your getter public so that we could establish if the object could
be accessed.

Andrew requested a this. Scope variable (public) so that he could see if
that variable would be visible in the object.
