If you're an employee the IP resides with the employer, if you're a contractor the IP reside with you unless a contract says otherwise (and it usually does) ;-)
Not sure if you're a employee? Does this company take tax out of your pay - if so you are. If not place of work, number of clients, if you supply your own tools and a few other things come into it, you still might be classified as an employee even if you think you are a contractor.
Always best to sort these issues up front :-(
