One solution I'd like, is that I think spell checking is only helpful for spell-checking tests. They otherwise create unnecessary trouble, because most test files contain a bunch of self isolated test cases, and spell checking breaks that isolation and creates coupling. I'd be very much in favor of disabling spell-checking on the frontend by default (and keep it enabled by default on the driver, which is the user visible bit).
