The Chandler Desktop offer to 'Test…' is applicable, and may (should) be successful, both before and after creation of the three mailboxes on the IMAP server. My sense is that the Account Preferences window could gain a more logical layout for current and future users of IMAP. <https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12554> is one of a number of enhancements/bugs that relate to the various preferences windows.
