Sorry, I should have been more specific : synchronization of *calendar items
*now works fine across platforms, and may even get better in the future when
products implement CalDAV. However, synchronization of *to do items* is
still a major problem.

Yes, I know that the iCalendar standard covers also to do's (as you informed
me a while ago), but it is practically seldom implemented. And quoting its
wikipedia page:

*Recurring and repeating meetings still have a "bit of mystery and ambiguity
associated with them", causing some conversion problems in some cases.*

I don't know how far this mystery goes or how long the ambiguity will last,
but I will not hold my breath for smooth syncing of all kind of items over
iCalendar...
