Other thoughts that stray through my mind while I'm watching Sen Paul:

I'm waiting to hear his position on legalization of marijuana. That is
/the/ issue, imo, since if a candidate can think clearly and speak
honestly - or at least sanely - on that issue, it says more about their
character than any of this "I'll eliminate your taxes if you vote for
me" rhetoric can ever say.

Of course talking eliminating taxes will get you votes, we've known
that for decades. It's what we call (in the business) a "no brainer".

I would also note that Paul doesn't seem to address the fact that none
of the things he's saying he will do can actually be done.

Things like eliminating the IRS will have to go through congress, and
will never be approved, there. There is simply no way in hell our
alleged "representatives" will ever actually represent us. They
represent corporate interests only, and Paul has not declared just
which corporate interests it is that he's supporting.

I don't buy that - of all the possible candidates - Paul the one - the
only one, even - who is is ready, willing, and able to serve the
interests of The People. No one represents The People - if some one
tried, that person would never make it onto the corporate media, which
Paul has done.

I believe the Repbublicans intend to use Ron Paul in a "spoiler" role,
much as they did so successfully with Ralph Nader and the Green Party
in 2000.

That activity (the corruption of the 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006
elections) by the RNC was planned well in advance, had the full backing
of the corporate masters of the so-called "electoral process", and was
quite successful when viewed from the standpoint of the extra-national
financial interests fueling which overthrew the US Federal Government
and during the first few years of the 21st century - struck down the
Constitution of the The United States of America as the highest law of
the land.

The only workable solution for this mess, imo, is to turn the operation
of the US Federal govt back over to the rightful owners and occupants
of the North American continent. And the sooner the better.
Furthermore, the activities of Jack Abrahamoff over the last few years
[decades] have shown that this idea - that the sovereignty of the
tribes should restored - is probably the single most feared idea yet
known to the RNC.

The behavior engaged in by Abrahamoff and his ilk - that of
alternatively threatening, then buying off, the tribes - can only be
characterized (objectively) as "running scared" - a pathetic.
desperate attempt to lend legitimacy to an illegal, unwanted regime
thirsty for the power to kill tens and hundreds of thousands of
non-W.A.S.P. persons who are taking up W.A.S.P. space, breathing
W.A.S.P. air, and just generally peeing in the W.A.S.P. swimming pool -
the Earth - that some people think should also belong in part to all
those other, non-white, non-monotheistic persons. ....

So. So what? Do you, Eater, really believe that a vote - any vote - in
a US national election counts for anything at all? Do you know
something that leads you to beleive that the vote totals at both the
state and national levels are not simply being bought and sold in the
back parking lot at Diebold Corp or ESS? If you do, please give over -
let me know.

At this time. I do not foresee the possibility of a meaningful election
in the US at any future time prior to the total collapse of not only
the national economy, but of the Federalist system of government. And
by "meaningful" I mean "an election in which the votes cast by those
who show up actually determines the outcome" - or even has a
significant impact on the outcome, since I think we both understand
that how people vote when they get to the polls is predetermined by the
orgies of corporate spending and accompaniant media blitz.

The screening and selection of the so-called "candidates" prior to the
full media push is also a big part of how the results of the election
are controlled. Remember Saddam Hussein was democratically elected by
a 90-something percent landslide. So was Hitler.

So what is Ron Paul's /real/ agenda - I just can't adjust my thinking
the point where I can believe that a white guy wearing a tie might not
be lying to me. Any faith or trust I may once have had in that system
has be eradicated over the last couple decades of deconstruction
applied to pretty much everything that was ever actually gotten right
in the conception and implementation of the idea we call The United
States of America. And I'm finding more and more (in my old age) that
there was precious little that was got right to begin with.

Finally, I want to say [again, for the dozenth time, at least] that
while there will almost certainly be an agonizingly long "election
cycle" centered around the year 2008, there is as yet no guarantee that
the current regime will actually yeild power in Jan '09.

So far, this current regime has violated every single other article and
clause of the Constitution of the United States of America. Why should
we - at this late date - believe that they will abide the clause
concerning term limits, or even that the heads of the executive branch
must be the same as those for whom votes are cast? What's to stop them
from simply issuing an executive order appointing the next ruler(s)?

Do you want to try to claim that e.g. the Attorney General or the
Justice Dept would try to stop them? Okay, right, I did need a good
laugh...

The US Federal Govt is in the hands of despots and madmen. Why would
they yield power? Who can gainsay them?

In short: It ain't over til it's over, and I will wait until Feb '09 to
point out again just what a waste of time, energy, and money it remains
to pretend that US politics is anything but a game rigged by the rich,
of the rich, and for the rich. The 99% of us that are not rich remain

"cannon fodder" in the Regime's War for Total Global Domination. If
you're cool with that, you're probably one of the 1%, and hence simply
do not matter at all, in the real world outside your gated community.
