Welcome to the J community then! Most important resources are effectively somewhere on jsoftware.com, mostly in the wiki.
The user documents, like the vocabulary[0], part of the Dictionary[1], formally very strict, but can be a bit dry to work through as new-comer. NuVoc[2] tries to alleviate this. Start at the big arrow, saying "Start here" in the Ancillary Pages section. There are some very nice books (some free e-books) at [3]: Learning J, J for C programmers (JforC), fractals, Visualisations &j, ... It seems you found your way to what is known as the J-Forum (a mailing list). Info and searchable archives can be found here [5]. There is also a J-programming group on Google Groups[6], but it seems its far less used than the mailing list. Essays [7] are small online articles on many topics. Articles [8] contains links to published articles in Vector, the journal of the British APL association, Journal of J, and so on. There are some very nice Youtube videos by Martin Saurer [9]. Other useful resources might include RosettaCode [10] and some entries at CodeGolf.Stackexchange[11] although it is probably not the best place to learn programming J in a maintainable style. There are User Groups[12], some external links[13] and success stories[14]. Last but not least, don't forget to look at the Labs, which are like interactive workbooks, and available as the addon called labs/labs, that can be installed via the package manager, and accessed via the menu: Help> Studio > Labs ... For all the rest, "jsoftware" is a search term that might work better. I hope this is useful for you, and wish you a pleasant journey in the world of J Best regards, Jan-Pieter [0]: http://www.jsoftware.com/help/dictionary/contents.htm [1]: http://www.jsoftware.com/help/dictionary/vocabul.htm [2]: http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/NuVoc [3]: http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/Books [5]: http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/System/Forums [6]: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/j-programming [7] http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/Essays [8]: http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/Articles [9]: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKwzfnnLZrHsQN1qkm7KmTA [10]: http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Category:J [11]: http://codegolf.stackexchange.com/ [12]: http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/User_Groups [13]: http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/Links [14]: http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/Stories On 27 Mar 2017 22:45, "William.W.Mangum via Chat" <[email protected]> wrote: > Greetings, > I am new to J and spending some time on learning the language.
