Oh. Don't get me started ranting about those bikes. Have you ever tried
doing field repairs on a faired bike while your 25KM from the nearest
populated area? :P Even the spark-plugs are a bi**h to remove/replace.
Still, for the Suzuki brand, I really like the Suzuki Bandit 650 ...
unfortunately, Suzuki parts are hard to come by in the Philippines and
ordering it outside is very-very expensive. Honda parts are really
common here and Honda bikes are fast but Yamaha's have more power
(generally speaking) which is more important since I'm not a medium
built person.

Oh, I had to sell my Yamaha XJR last year (my grandfather got cancer)
and I settled on just using a china knock-off 150cc scooter. Now imagine
me, 5'9" and around 185lbs driving a 150cc scooter for 75KM per day.
Hehehe. I had to return the bike to the shop for repairs after 15
working days because I got it to 1,000KM and it just plain died on me.
Hahahaha.

Btw, I'm currently using a Lenovo T61 with Vista Ultimate but this was
really a replacement for my HP-Compaq NC6400. Oh man, that laptop is not
for application development.

Why, ... it's like this. Our system runs the following softwares so I
had to install it on my laptop:
1. MS-SQL Server
2. IIS
3. Visual Studio .NET 2005
4. J 601

So, when I start debugging, I normally do the following:
1. Load visual studio and the project that I need to debug.
2. Load the Application
3. Attached visual studio to the application that I loaded.
4. Put a stop in the source code.
5. Run the application to the break point.
6. Code will go through all of the following:
   a. IIS
   b. Request data from MS-SQL
   c. Run J
7. I start stepping through C# / ASPX / J code then BANG! Everything
freezes.

For the longest time, our supplier keep returning my machine saying that
its fine. So I asked all 3 of their support people to meet at their
office and I showed them how to crash their laptop. You know what's
funny? They gave me another one and the same thing happened.

After that, although we didn't change supplier, but we're now using DELL
and I'm stuck with a Lenovo (both brands passed the BANG! Test).

I did try to convince the office to provide me with a 64bit machine then
just asked if I can get a Mac. No go. So when my wife told me that I can
spend 2,000USD on a new (pre-owned) bike after she took pity on me on my
dinky scooter ... I'm thinking of getting a MacOSX.

Wow. I already wrote that much? I guess Im not busy today. It's the chat
forum anyways. :P

Subject: [Jchat] 64bit Mac Laptops

Hello guys,

As a major purchase this year, I'm choosing between (sorted by level of
priority):

1. Mac Book Pro

2. Yamaha XJR 400cc

3. Honda CB400 Super 4 version S

Since I'll definitely be using J on it, I been mucking around the Apple
website trying to find out how much a 64bit machine would cost. All I
got is that MacOSX supports 64bit cpu's and all the blah-blah.

So, is there really no 64bit Mac laptops right now?

Thanks.

r/Alex
