Has anyone tried a PS-3/1080p/Yellow Dog Linux combination? I went to a talk
by the Sony Entertainment Chief Prog - apparently YDL is now officially
endorsed by Sony. The (Power architecture) Cell engine has 7 processors,
each with DMA - loosely based on the Transputer - v interesting, incredibly
powerful, and cheap. YDL can't access all the proprietary graphics card
accelerations but is otherwise capable of using all that 64/128-bit power.
PS-3 is v cheap too - 1080p TV will cost more...

Also, has anyone tried MonetDB - an open column-oriented db, seems similar
to kdb in intention?
