Hey guys, I upgraded the starter in my 67 barracuda
to a high-torque mini-starter and I'm absolutely in love with it.. I'd like to
do something similar for my Chevelle. I bought my barracuda starter from the
local autozone (application was an '88 Dodge RamCharger, though I think any late
80's would have done it) for $89.99.. Much better than the $150+ for a new one
plus its a lifetime warrantied part.. My question is-- Is there a similar
exchange for my 71 Chevelle? It's an L48 350ci motor so there's no oddball
qualities about it.. Any late model Chevies use a gear-reduction starter that I
can just pick up remanufactured at the local parts store?
Thanks!
Raj
