Pulling with these is find. Yes even with alum heads and intakes while pulling the trans with the engine. That weight is distributed through a whole lot of studs and/or bolts. Do watch out for the lift plate though... most of them are welded pretty cheesy and they may break with big weight.

I've used them for years now, even to pull a BBC with iron heads.  So far, no problems. (yes, with alum intakes).

Seems crazy, I know......   I still avoid being close to the engine just in case that intake gives.  :-)
