Antenna extension cables are readily available in many parts stores.  Most aftermarket antennas I've seen have some cable with them, just plug the extension(s) in to meet your needs.  Been a long time, but doesn't a FM antenna hav to be a specific height for good reception?  My wife's last two cars (93 SHO and now a 03 Sable) both have windshield antennas and get good reception probably 75 miles out of major areas.  After that we talk or listen to CDs anyway.  In the GR8PMKN or my Elky, I'm listening to CDs or the highway anyway. :*)

Subject: [Chevelle-list] To "antenna or NOT TO ANTENNA,that is the question."

Is this strickly a 1969 "item?"

Where would I get an antenna lead?  It's an 18 inch
coax cable between windshield antenna and the radio.
Can one be made somehow?  Or whaaat!!?

Also what is this I heard that there were AM antennas
which will not receive AM-FM?  Been hearing about
that lately, but no one I have talked with is sure about
this, anyone know on here?

Still not sure whether to go aftermarket or not, been
seeing a lot of origional power antennas on ebay for
'68-72 intermediate GM cars and not sure whether
it is worth the trouble to get one, make it work and
add an origional factory GM Power Antenna "Switch."

                             Just wondering if anyone knows?
