I'M NOT SURE THAT por15 WOULD BE THE BEST  answer for new clean metal.    As I recall it adhears best to a slightly rusted surface.    There may be a prep available to age the metal though.    Also read carefully the prep instructions & health warnings at www.por15.com .  Its good stuff but can be dangerous.    I used it also & am happy with the result.
