Well,,let's count up some numbers. All the headwork w/valve job will probably run around $500. The induction system will probably run another $500 or more. A good flat tappet cam kit and HEI will cost another $400-500. Add another $500-750 for a complete exhaust system. Add another $500 or more for extras like gasket set,oil pump,water pump,and bearings. If you're not going to do the engine disassembly and re-assembly,add another $500 or more. You could probably pick up a nice 468 BBC for around $4000 so this is something to consider. A good 468 will easily produce 500hp/500tq.
