That's comparing apples to oranges, they are not the same thing.  We are discussing cooling systems here, not electronics.  I stated facts I have observed from personal experience.  I had electric fans on my 70 and they didn't do the job that the factory system does.
As for flex fans, the blades become flatter against 1 geometric plane as engine RPM increases thusly pulling less air through the radiator.
