Welcome to the List, Steve. With that kind of budget,you should be able to find exactly what you're looking for. Should be a fun search.

Danny;

Thanks for your response and comments. My perfect car is the one I had in high school (1970-1974) a 69 Chevelle SS-396 (not sure hp I had) Lemans Blue hard top with white vinyl roof and two racing stripes down hood and trunk with white pin stripes on the side. While my car had bench seats, black interior and column shift automatic I would like to have what I always wanted the car to have, bucket seats and 4 speed transmission. Would like to find one with factory air as I don't imagine I will be as concerned about racing it now as I was then but rather be more concerned with my wife being happy with air conditioner. I believe the car would really have looked better with a white interior for seats and that's what I would like now as I am probably better equipped to take care of them.

Danny, finding this car is probably like looking for a needle in a hay stack however that is the perfect car for me. I just want to try to find one as close to this configuration as possible. As far as price I am fairly flexible based on the quality of the car in relation to what it is worth. I am open to a fully restored car done by a quality restoration facility or a really clean car that would be fun to own and drive. In dollar terms say from 15,000 to 50,000. Due to business commitments I don't have a lot of spare time and am not really mechanically inclined but do enjoy driving the cars and being around people and events that share the same passion.

Does this help for starters?
