John; Thanks for the information and advice. Talked to the car dealer this morning. According to him car is an orginal SS with matching numbers except for engine. He said he has documentation that the engine was switched under warranty shortly after car was purchased new.
I have not heard from any list members in the area of Ball Louisiana so I asked for dealer to give me a reference on credible person to look at car for me. He made a recomendation and I called the guy who seems very knowledeable and is a rep for cars on line inspections. Claims to have been in car business for 30 years and doing this for over 10. He is going there at lunch to inspect the car and then call me. Dealer claims car is a strong 2. Car came from Texas. Thats the latest.
