The shaft that goes through the bracket has a lot of slop in it as does the
brake pedal.

You can find them used, 64-66 are the same, 67 IS different. They do reproduce
these, and I've never heard of anybody having problems with them. When I
checked them out, they seemed like good pieces. I wonder what's so different
about yours that gave you so much trouble? I'm curious. Like I said, that part
of my brake conversion was simple. I don't remember there being any problems.

Thanks but I got it adjusted. I had to take out the whole pedal assembly and it
seems to be a piece of junk. does anybody make a decent pedal set for this year?

I'll look and see but The last time I tried I couldn't get to the end of the
pin. The only way I could get to the clip was with a long skinny screwdriver.

I had a Willwood master cylinder installed on my 66 chevelle w/non power front
disc/rear drum. The brakes lock up after about a mile of driving. I checked the
brake pedal rod and it has been adjusted all the way out which I'm pretty sure
is what is causing my problem. I tried to adjust the rod under the dash but I
can't get to it. Can I take the master cylinder loose and adjust it from under
the hood?

Thu, 22 May 2008 21:11:29 -0400Subject: [Chevelle-list] removing filler neck
from gas tank

If you can drive the ring around the sending unit and releaseit. Then there
should be enough room remove to replace it with the tank in thecar.

Steve,

As has already been said, the filler neck is welded to thetank. Removing the
tank with the neck attached is you only option. Can you dropthe exhaust low
enough to remove the tank or drop the tank low enough to get tothe sending unit?

Hey guys, I need to eplace the sending unit in my 70 SS andwas wondering how
the filler neck comes off the tank so I can remove the tank. There is no rubber
connecting piece or any type of clamp holding it on. I put3" exhaust on the car
so removing the tank with the filler neck on it as aunit really isnt an option.
Thanks for helping me out ( AGAIN) Steve

I did a Google search to find out about Valero and am pleasantly surprised to
find it is entirely an American Corporation based in San Antonio, Texas and all
their gas is from America; no mid east imports. I strongly feel we would all be
better off purchasing our gasoline from them or Arco rather than to support the
Saudis, etc.

WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE. Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting
American products? Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our
own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their
profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and
reduce the import/export deficit?Just purchase gas from companies that don't
import their oil from the Saudis. These companies import Middle Eastern
oil:Shell.................................. 205,742,000
barrelsChevron/Texaco................... ; 144,332,000 barrelsExxon
/Mobil....................... 130,082,000

barrelsAmoco................................ 62,231,000 barrelsAnd CITGO
oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and
openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10
Billion per year in oil revenues!)Here are some large companies that do not
import Middle Eastern oil: Sunoco....................... 0 barrels
Conoco..................... 0 barrels Sinclair.....................
0 barrels BP / Phillips............... 0 barrelsHess.
........................... 0 barrels ARC0..............................0
barrels (Many auto mechanics don't approve)Maverick....................... 0
barrelsFlying J. ...................... 0
barrelsVALERO........................0 barrelsMurphy Oil USA sold at Wal-Mart
is from South Arkansas and owned USA! Not only that they give scholarships
to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens.
All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and
each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they
are importing.
But to have a real impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers.
With the help of the internet, it's really simple to do. Please forward
this along to your family, friends, and co-workers
