I dropped my girl off early in the morning and picked her up in the late
afternoon. It was a bit nervewracking worrying about every little thing while
she was in my care, but I feel she was better off with me. I would have been
extremely anxious had she been left overnight with no one to watch her. We
made sure someone was home with her 24/7 for the first few days. She was done
at the shelter where we adopted her as part of the adoption package. I think
she would have had a far greater chance of infection being there than with us.
She actually did later develop an incisional infection that I took her to our
regular vet for, but that was easily cleared up with antibiotics, both oral and
topical.

Hi Christie

I did have to leave my 2 females at the vet over night when they were spayed.  I dropped them off around 8am one morning and picked them up the next morning.

I too have wondered when they do surgeries is anyone with them overnight.

Honestly, I am very very very nervous.
My last dog, Foxie, a pomerianian died last summer from a freak
acciedent and I have been a bit paranoid about Meeker.

I called to book the appointment (next Tuesday) and they told me that
she would be staying there over night.

When I had Foxie spayed, I was able to pick her up that evening.

Is it common for them to have to stay overnight?

Do vets leave someone overnight with them to check on them? (or is
this something I should ask the vet?)

Thank you!
Christie
