My chihuahuas gets along fine with my cats. The dogs aren't likely to give your cats anything. My chis do bark alot but lots of people say theirs don't. I've never noticed that they smell bad. When you first get a chi or any other dog and you leave them in their crate to go somewhere they will whine until they get used to it but then most of them are fine with staying in their crate. I've heard lots of people say they litter trained their dogs. I have so far not been able to get mine to go to a box. They tend to eat the litter. I take them out or let them go on pee pads. Betty

I have 3 chi's and 2 cats that get along fine in my house. Only the older, bigger chi goes outside. She has never made the cats sick. Only the old cat goes outside, and he has never made the other animals sick. I have never tried litter training the dogs because I buy plenty of litter for the cats. I crate trained the 2 little chi's and the older, bigger chi goes outside. She is a long coat so she can tolerate the cold better. The 2 small chi's r smooth coat and would freeze their butts.
