I have heard a few vets say this as well, but the vet I had for 20 years (who
has now retired) told me that it was perfectly safe and fine and that the main
reason other vets like to say no is because the more they sell the more money
they make! My vet had enough money to be honest, lol (most of it from me over
20 years!! lol) seriously though, this is the way I have done it every since
frontline came out and have never had a problem from either an adverse reaction
nor with fleas. The cost is significantly lower this way. I may be wrong, but I
honestly do feel many vets say no simply because it cuts into their profits.
Fleas are really bad here. We also have bad ticks, but my chis do not spend
enough time in the right (or wrong?) places to get ticks, but the fleas are
horrible. Before the invention of frontline, it was a never ending battle to
keep fleas gone and I had an exterminator to my house twice a year to help
control the fleas on the outside grounds. Since Frontline came on the market, I
have absolutely NO flea problems...except for occasionally when I can't afford
to buy the stuff....I start to see a couple of fleas and raid the piggy
banks...then the problem is gone.

Please lets talk of this again. I've been hearing a lot from my other list
and still worry about giving a tiny dog a dose for a 22lb dog. My vet adamantly
says do not half it as it will not work. i live in a horrible area for fleas
and ticks and am sickened to put the "poison" on the wee one. and yes I know
Doxy was worse. (the antibiotic for lymes)
Talking of Neurotic moms I actually think of moving to where there are no
ticks and fleas. (does that only exist in a fantasy? LOL
