In my opinion you really need to ask if the parents have been patella checked. Bad legs (especially the rear)are a common problem in chihuahuas and often require surgery. The puppy can be checked by the vet now although the tests are not accurate until around 2 years of age. I really would not buy a pup online unless I knew the breeder had at least tested the parents for this problem. If not, you might ask to see a video of the parents so you can watch them move. If the front or rear legs look to be moving out from the dog as they move...there very likely could be issues. And this is sad to see a dog that has bad patellas, it is painful for them. Another tell tale sign, if you are thinking of buying a pup in person, is to pick the parents up and hold them. When you pick them up if you feel a popping in the rear legs, there is a problem. Also ask if they have a buy back policy, if for some reason the pup does not work out at your home, will they give you a portion of your money back and take the pup back. Most responsible breeders will. Good luck in your search. Amber All Soigne Chihuahuas Need a website? _www.soignewebdesign.com_ (http://www.soignewebdesign.com/)
