Thanks Marsha, I guess I'd better look into it a little more. That's something I hadn't thought about.

You need to either make sure you are covered under your homeowners insurance if something were to go wrong, or else you need to draw up a contract waiving liability. The chance is there that maybe a dog gets loose while in her care and gets lost or run over. Or maybe it somehow gets hurt or sick and the person wants to sue her. There are plenty of legal defenses she could use, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I would take the time to look at the liability angle. (maybe just my legal background creeping in??? lol) Marsha Do not tell God how big your storm is. I was looking on line at rates, but we are talking about a kid here maybe to just let the dog out, clean the litterbox, feedings, stuff like that. Does $6/visit sound reasonable? I wondered about charging extra if they want the dog taken for a walk, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated. My DD thought that sounded like a lot of money until I told her what a kennel charges and that most people would rather pay extra to be able to leave their dog at home. My neighbor comes over 4x/day to take care of our dogs when we go off (and we take care of his as well), but I would gladly pay someone $24/day to do that and consider it a bargain.
