Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. Wasn't sure if I should reply to all
post or one so I decided one.

Tianna's health is fine. she goes to the vet on a regular basis and is always
in good health.

I take care of my grandma so my bedroom is like my house and when hubby visits
we sit on my bed and watch tv or what not. She only and really only does the
growl and nip when he is around and when he is on the bed with us.

Let's say he is laying there and I go to move the blanket to cover up she will
attack me. If she is laying next to him and I go to pet her she will growl at
me and if I was to pick her up I would get nipped.

When he isn't here she obeys my every command and is a good girl. She is my
only dog but I babysit her dad for my mom during the week when my mom goes to
work. I rescued him 4 years ago from a abusive house and he was aggressive at
first but now he won't bite or attack or anything. He is a little sweet heart.
Actually he will attack if he thinks one of the family is getting hurt but he
won't bite because it is another family member.

I do have two cats, one we have had for awhile and tianna will attack her if
she tries to get near me but only once in a while I do know this is a jealousy
thing and we are working on it. She is getting better at letting the older cat
come near me now.

The other cat is about 4 months old but looks like a 8 week old kitten for some
reason he doesn't seem to be growing, anyway Tianna lets him do anything. She
won't even eat till he is done, like when I give them my food.

Anyway, she only does this when my husband is around and when she is near him.
This morning before he left to go home, he was in the chair and tianna was on
the bed with me and she didn't do anything. It's like she doesn't like me
invading his space, which seems to be the whole bed when he is on it. lol.

does any of this make sense? I have had to deal with this before from a
different dog and breed we had 10 years ago and couldn't get her to stop this
either.

It seems to me to be a battle of who is going to be top female LOL I know
sounds funny but that is how I feel about the situation. And no my husband
doesn't really let her get a way with it. He does tell her no to treat mommy
that way.

Again Thank you all for making me feel so welcome,
cim

Hi, Cim. Welcome to the group! Is Tianna the only dog you have? Sounds like
to me she might be going through a doggy teenager stage. Mouthy, doesn't
listen... LOL. Anyways, so she only growls and nips when your hubby is around?
Does she try to bite him or just you? As far as the nails go, we gave up on
trimming our chi's nails a long time ago. We tried, but everytime we would
hold her she'd do a crazy alligator death roll. So now we take her to PetSmart
where she, of course, behaves like an angel. I think it is about $8-$10 which
isn't too bad, so if you can I'd go ahead and take Tianna there. It's good for
socializing too.
