actually there is no min wt for Chihuahuas in the standards.. just the max wt
of 6lbs.. but some do get bigger than that.

By AKC standards Chihuahua is no less than 2lb no more than 6lb.I don't care

Ok maybe I am wrong here but sometimes people really get to me.I was at the pet
store this morning with my three little ones... thislady came over and was all
ohhhh and ahhhh over them, then asked whatbreed they where. Of course I replied
Chihuahuas. She kept arguing withme about it saying they are too big to be
chihuahuas, that chihuahuascan't be over 5 lbs.Don't get me wrong... all of my
little ones are larger chihuahuas. Chipis 7.2lbs, Dale is 10.5lbs... he is over
weight and Gidget (my newlittle girl) is 7.9lbs. I know both Dale and Gidget
have a little bit ofweight on them they could lose but I don't think either of
them would beor look health under 5lbs. Both of them are on a diet weight now
so weare working to loss some of the extra weight. When Dale got fixed hewent
from 7lbs to 12lbs, so far he has lost a couple of lbs. Chip on theother hand
looks skinny at 7.2lbs.I am wrong that it is normal for chihuahua to weight
that much.Venus
