To all:

Thank you so much for your advice so far (keep it coming if anyone has
anything else to suggest). What Rylee says below would be great if this was
even the case but it's not.

We know the neutering had something to do with the changed behavior b/c it
happened in the week following the neuter and has progressively gotten
worse. Btw, I failed to mention that Eric, the son, is 12 yrs old, and does
not have any behavior (but love) with Buddy to cause him to want to bite
him. And Steve, the dad, has always been great with Buddy - they played
nonstop. Now that has changed suddenly.

I do think that my sister, Trish, is the 'person' Buddy is always going to
attach to b/c she has MS and is home most of the day - and often in her
recliner. So it stands to reason that she would become Buddy's person. But
to view Steve and Eric has intruders in their own house to the point that he
attacks them and bites them - that's going a little too far.

I have never been around Buddy since he has been biting them so I don't know
what their reactions are other than what Trish has read in the Cesar book to
do, but trainers on my beagle site suggested that Trish get up from the
chair and leave Buddy when he starts barking and growling (he growls at the
family members alot now after the neuter). He will not like being left, the
trainer said. Others said to put him in his crate.

My idea of something to do (and the trainer backed me up on this) was for
Steve and Eric to hand feed him his meals. How can you go wrong there? You
would have Buddy eating out of you hand - literally and figuratively. :)
I'm just not sure how much a chi-jrt is inspired by food the way beagles are
- you can get them to do anything you want for food.
