I can understand why the cost can be so high when you adopt from a rescue.
As I said in an earlier post, they do have a lot of overhead in vet care,
vacinations, neutering/spay, transport, ect. I can understand that. But
what does realy irk me about many breed specific rescues is the way they
snatch a dog up as soon as it hits the shelters without first giveing the
"normal" person the chance to adopt it from the shelter. I truly believe
rescue funds could be much better spent focusing on those dogs who do not
have a chance. Leave the pure-breds in the shelter untill their time is
up....giving someone a chance to adopt at shelter fees. THEN, if time is
up and no one has adopted THEN rescue. JMO
