I think there are far more people trying to make $$ off of this than you would 
think!!!! I can list 3 or 4 "rescues" within 100 miles of me that are NOT on 
the 
up and up!!! They are making money...and have tax exempt status! The dogs are 
not always their first concern!!! Certainly you can not say that about every 
rescue...but way more than you think are NOT doing things correctly!

The money went to vet care, spay/neuter, shots, any medical issues that needed 
to be taken care of.  Some of the shelters also charged their fees for us to 
get 
dogs out.  Some was also spent to help foster homes with food.  Absolutely 
nothing when to any salaries of any kind.  I don't know where you are but here 
I'm familiar with several other rescue groups in this state and none of them 
pay 
salaries.  And I disagree that full timers getting big salaries is how most are 
run.
