Break any chicken leg bone in half Dasha...feel the inside with your
finger...they DO splinter and the pieces are very sharp!!

I have never had a raw chicken leg bone splinter. How small are the ones you
buy?

The one bone that just really scars me is a Chicken leg bone...they
splinter...they just do. So for the Littles I feel so much better grinding
the leg bones and the thigh bones too. BUT they can and do have both!!!!! My
Chi's will get wings, necks, backs etc NOT ground and also have a ground meal
too!!! I do watch ANY of my guys while they eat legs and thighs...even big
Caleb...maybe I just worry too much!!! I will admitt that!!! But there have
been
cases of bone splinters from chicken legs piercing stomachs...it just worries
me! I do enjoy grinding the meat for the dogs just as I use to enjoy cooking
for
them. I will also say that when I feed the grind...clean up is so much
easier...just like canned food from a bowl...it can be fed anywhere with no
mess. So...for me the choice is the work of grinding or the work of sanitizing
the whole area they ate in...somedays I admitt I just enjoy grinding and not
all
the cleaning LOL!

And Darcy....I am always right Huh??? I sure wish you would tell my kids
that!!!
Things would be so much easier around here!!!! LOL!!

I have 5 from 2.5 lbs to 10lbs the youngest is 8 months so I guess they would
all be ok with bones they all have adult teeth.  I have split leg quarters in
the freezer right now...but I was worried about the larger bones and the
"knuckle" in the thigh.  Guess I'll defrost them for tomorrow.  They have been
getting breast bones and all and have loved it.

my danes i watch cause its chomp chomp gone..bones and all. but i also throw
them a deer leg out back in the fenced yard and leave....the chi has a
stainless
bowl attached to her crate and she goes where i go all day... she ignors her
ground raw till she decides its time then gobbles it in one sitting... the size
of an ice cube..3 per day.(she is 6 months old now)... but i watch her with
bones and she gnaws...i will leave her with a bone when she has all her teeth..
