Deanna,

You may have answered this before because I know there was an earlier post on
flea medication but what flea treatment/preventative did you say you use?

Hi Christy...forgot some of your questions...Nugget usually acts a little out
of it after his seizure...about 5-10 minutes. After that he seems to head for
some water. I feed Nugget 2 times a day...morning and early evening...and he
always eats. 4 out of the 5 vets we have seen with this have said that they
think his seizures are a direct result of the booster I gave him...the timing
was uncanny. Needless to say I will never repeat that mistake...no boosters
here. I would never do a flea med like frontline so no worries there...because
they asked me about that...but there best assessment is boosters. Now...how
that factors in with an increase in seizures because of his diet (when I add in
any grain) change...who knows??? I just know we can not vary from a completely
raw diet. or whamo...they increase.

Well, right now he isn't eating anything. I am giving him nutrical and trying
to get him to eat the L/D. I have to try the low protein for now until I can
get the bile test done. If it is a liver shunt and I keep feeding him protein
his seizures will just keep getting worse. So...until then its low
protein...if the test comes back negative for liver shunt then I will go raw
for him. Did nugget get his bile acid tested? Did they say what caused his
seizures? How did he act after his seizures? was he still eating? drinking?
Thanks

Christy...the low protein diet is ONLY if his seizures are a result of Liver
Shunt...if his seizures are a result of ANYTHING else a low protein diet can be
harmful...I would have him ONLY on low protein IF he is diagnosed for certain
to have Liver Shunt. If he does not...then get him on a raw diet. Raw is what
really lessened Nugget's seizures...Nugget does not have liver shunt.

From what I have read the science diet is lowest in protein. If I give him
baby food he will get too much protein and it will make his body toxic. I do
have lactulose and an antibiotic. But he had another seizure tonight...I am
very worried for him.

Shanna, do you know why? The baby food chicken or things like that won't hurt
the dog I don't think

Hi Christy

Please do as your vet advises with the S.D perscription food.

I don't know...the vet said he trusted science diet for liver issues...it is a
prescription diet...I wasn't sure about it either, but he says it will allow
his liver to not have to work so hard? Well see, he isn't eating anything
right now...I was going to pick up some baby food when I go to get his meds.

Thanks for all the prayers

They want him on science diet

==================

Why? I don't understand this. This is by all counts a crappy food to feed your
animals so what is the reasoning behind this one? Just curious. I am sorry for
the seizures
