Dolly & Desi love to lick me. Desi is always giving kisses and if he isn't doing that, a good deal of time he is licking himself. I have heard that they lick to get the salt from our natural perspiration...as that occurs everywhere - on our hands, necks, feet, legs, etc. But, I have also heard that dogs lick as a sign of their affection for their owner.
