Here it is a big problem.people are losing their jobs because of the tourism industry not being what it was. Pres. Obama telling everyone not to go to Las Vegas or have their conventions here (even though the accommodations and meeting space is less than many places).
We have the second highest unemployment in the US. It is a big problem here.people don't want to take their pets to the shelter, so when they get foreclosed on they leave their animals in the house with lots of food and water hoping that the next person that will live there will love and take care of their animal.of course I don't think that is the right thing to do either. Thanks to the Internet people are now seeing what a problem it has always been. A lot of people have no qualms at all about getting rid of an animal because they are "just an animal". I think the economy has caused the numbers to rise but not that much. _____ So, what you wrote, Deanna, is true of some people but not of all. There are too many in the shelter and they need homes, but I think that some of them came because of some sort of family economic problem these days.
