I find it quite interesting, since I have had Desi, how almost all the
strangers that see me with both of them always ask if I am going to be
breeding them. People don't walk up to couples on the street and ask them
if they are going to have babies together. I think people that ask don't
really understand why someone would have a dog and not be breeding them.

Peggy, you are such a wonderful advocate and champion for dogs, always
demanding what is best for them and wanting others to feel the same, but
some never will, no matter how much we wish it or will it to happen. They
just not do possess the same love, compassion, understanding, connectedness,
that you and others who deeply love their pets and value them do. I
honestly think those of us that do were born this way. My parents never had
any real understanding of animals or how much love you can feel for them or
how they love you back, just barely tolerating my deep love of animals, my
mom, bless her heart, would only give my cats, which was all I was ever
allowed to have (they had to live outside where they always got hit by a
train and I had to mourn them forever) a perfunctory pat to appease me. When
our neighbor's dog had cocker spaniel puppies and my sister and I begged our
hearts out to have one, the answer was no, no, no, from both mom and dad.
In their defense, they were both working extremely hard to support our
family.

After I was married and finally got my own dog, when they would visit they
never noticed the adorable antics he performed that made us laugh so hard
and love him even more. I always wondered how I could possibly be their
real child because of my adoration and love for animals and would search our
house for my adoption birth records from time to time, never found them,
lol...

Gigi, what a doll, well, we knew that, and what a compliment to her
preciousness, that people wanted her puppies should she have some, and how
observant of you to notice all that she responded to, the stroller, wanting
her mom to let her spend more time with the guy who she knew looked like her
(so cute!), because you are all of the above in the third sentence of this
very lengthy email. Sorry about that, but really admire how much you love
and care for yours and spend the time to find out what is the healthiest
food to feed, what they truly need in life to give them the longest and best
lives possible. And all the many others on this group that do exactly the
same. You know who you are!

I felt bad for that little chi that I saw today. He was way to skinny and
you could feel all his bones. The owners were not the type of people who are
really into their dog. I got the impression that they love the dog, but it
is just a dog attitude. I really wanted to take him away from them.
Guarantee that poor fellow is on cheap can food and will never gain weight
on it either. Would you visit me in jail Joan?, lol!
