I did read some thing on the subject a while ago. I think that research has to be done to find the actual law and read it. I don't trust everything that PETA tries to twist. I hope they are wrong when it comes to the dog rescues and transport. If it does affect them, then some one better make sure that the bill doesn't get passed until it is revised. Also would like to know how this affects show breeders and if it is effective for all states. And where are they going to get the funds to hire people to enforce it? Some how I doubt it it. Maybe this law is just for bully breeds?

Subject: [Chihuahuas] USDA Animal Welfare Act
I've been trying to understand this controversial ban by the USDA on banning
dog breeding. Some say this ban would affect dog rescue groups because they
would not be able to advertise recused dogs on Petfinder or other means of
the internet. That would really affect rescues transporting dogs out of
state to find loving homes, like my "Liza". I just wonder if this is true.
I know the ASPCA says small home breeders could still raise some dogs with
limits to breeding females and so on. But PETA wants a total ban.
Just trying to find out the truth about this ban. I am not a fan of puppy
mills and I would think there would be a way to shut them down at least.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Margie, "Liza's" mom
