Well that' even better. Now you can see her barking and call right away. I would love to see her face when she can't figure out where you are, lol! Most dogs start the barking as soon as you leave, so that is the best time to test her out.

It seems to work every time. She understands that we are both ignoring the other dog, and 9x out of 10 the other dog stops barking and pulling as well. On my rainbow bridge dog who had separation anxiety at the beginning, I would stand at the door, ready to thrust it open and yell Quiet as soon as he started barking. You have to do it several times and keep at for a few days, but it worked for him. Another method is if you have a house phone with a recording on it. You can call your house with your cell phone, leave the sound up high, and call her by name and say quiet a couple of times. You can even do that just standing in front of your house, or in the car to test her out. I am now also rehoming my daughter's dog, an older, epi - jack russell since January 2013. Daisy's separation anxiety - loud screeching when i leave for work in the am has increased even with Leo at home. So i end up taking her to Pet Camp where she has plenty of attention and play with other dogs. There is the issue of cost for this. I am considering some herbs or other remedies. The Thunder Shirt does not work unfortunately She is a sweetheart at home. On walks she becomes aggressive towards other dogs so I go for avoidance as much as possible. Would you have any suggestions. I have spoken to a vet to suggest treatment including acupunture.
