I used Adams to keep ticks off when I went to a park that had ticks. It can be used with the fleas meds or at least with some.

They love dune grass and we have lots of deer dropping them off. I comb the boys every time we come in from a walk. UGH! We take our dogs in the RV and when visiting many of the wooded State Parks we have encountered ticks! Especially at Tomoka State Park. Yet we frequent Fort DeSoto on the west coast and as of yet to encounter ticks. I use the Advantix on our girls after the episode over on the east coast at Tomoka. It was horrible!! I always check my girls when RVing now. Fleas have always been widespread problem in Florida for as I long as I can remember, but I do believe the ticks are trouble in particular areas. Someone told me that they are a problem up in the St. Augustine area too. All I will say is, I hate the darn things and they make me paranoid! YUCK!! We are on Siesta Key during the winter and I have only seen one tick. Maybe we don't have them there because there aren't many or any deer on the island? That is the only flea med that seems to work for us in FL. Our boys have never had any side effects. Comfortis does not kill fleas however so watch out for them! It was a difficult decision, but I gave it with food, and then watched them like a hawk for several hours. So far, so good. But does anyone know how long it takes for the fleas to die off? Thanks, Possum
