Comment #42 on issue 4463 by jadavis98: Feature Request: Themes for Chrome's toolbar and frame. http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=4463
I think my main gripe here is that this request was made way back in November 08 and I really think most people thought themes would allow the background color change and now we find out in Late Mar 09 that they won't and that we have to wait until extensions are implemented for this MAYBE to change and we really don't know when extensions will even be available. Themes are nice for changing borders, boxes, etc. but they are already available from several sources. I have been able to make Chrome and Gmail do almost everything I want by using gadgets, userscripts, plug-ins and third part apps. so I'm generally pleased and look forward to extensions being available. I get that Themes will only allow UI changes and not core code, but it just came as shock to me this late in the game, so to speak, that this feature will not correct what it was originally intended to do from a user point of view, that's all.
